    Hey all,

I've been trying to figure out why my bank 1 upstream sensor failed. A couple of weeks ago I had my cylinder 3 ignition coil fail (2011 v6). I had it towed and dropped in a new plug and coil. But just a couple of days ago I got the p0031 code. I'm picking up a new sensor today.

Just wondering if the failed ignition coil could have caused damage to the upstream O2 sensor. To my knowledge cylinder 3 is in bank 1.

Nope. Just coincidence is all, I would guess. Seems to always happen like that right? One thing takes a dump, you fix that and something else goes kaput and youre like..Hmmmmm....

    Not for a p0031.
That’s related to the A/F heater circuit.
Your A/F sensor isn’t drawing enough current.

A bad coil would not cause that.

Ah, I see. Well. I have a denso replacement in the mail. Guess I'll be driving with a check engine light for a few days .
