I cant see why not? What the difference if you buy a lifted truck, or me buying a car thats lowered? I wouldnt think that suspension would have anything to do with bringing a vehicle accross the border.

Here is a link to the Registrar of Imported Vehicles (RIV) http://www.riv.ca/importingavehicle.aspx It has every detail you will need.

There will be no issue importing a lifted (modified) vehicle assuming it will pass your provincial safety inspection and the RIV inspection.

    My truck is MAGIC
I know a fellow who bought a truck for the states, it was a lifted GM. They wouldnt let it cross the border until the lift was removed, and the truck was returned to stock.. this is NOT the out of province inspection. these were border officials.

i dont agree with it, seems ridiculous to me. but thats what happened. once he completed the out of province inspection, he put the lift back on.

I think as long as its "used" your ok to bring it over. you just need to send the paperwork to the border 72 hours in advance i belive. my parents thought about doing this but didnt go through with it.

been to canada many times hunting. border patrol guys really suck. there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the searches they perform, or the stuff they come up with. my best guess is it depends on the dudes mood that day and whether they sense any attitude. good luck with the truck and the family!

This is from RIV website, under Vehicle admissibility.

"Please Note: Neither Transport Canada nor the Registrar of Imported Vehicles (RIV) can guarantee the accuracy of the information contained in this list. The information is subject to change without notice.
Vehicles that have been modified from their original state, other than regular maintenance, may not be eligible for importation into Canada. For example, a van transformed into a motorhome (often known as Class B motorhome), a van equipped with raised roof and/or modified interior, a pick-up or a passenger car equipped with lift kit, a motorcycle converted to a motor tricycle (trike), etc. This also applies to Canadian vehicles modified in the U.S. and returning to Canada"

Since you are buying it from a dealer, let them do the work for you. They can send the specifications, maybe with photos and whatever other attachments that might be informative, to the RIV and Transport Canada and get pre-approved. If you get the pre-approval in writing with the RIV or Transport Canada letterhead and/or stamp, then you should be able to get it through the border. If not, then the deal will not be able to go through, so I am sure the dealer will put a little effort into it.
