And on that note, the t-case is above the trans as near as I can tell. Not the greatest placement of those by Toyota haha

    Update,

Front diff has been dry since I fixed the breather. I went throught the touchless car wash yesterday and did the undercarriage wash. I took a look at the diff this morning after my morning commute and noticed a tiny bit of weapage and the bottom of the seal/axle housing. Just a very tiny about of diff fluid. No drop just can feel it by touch.

I wonder if the high pressure undercarraige wash is causing the issue? I know it sounds odd but its been dry for over a month until I went throught the wash. It seems odd the seal would just randomly leak sometimes.

The car wash should not cause the issue.
It’s either a bad seal, not installed properly, or the differential is building pressure.

With that said, since you say it’s weeping. I wouldn’t worry about it at all.
I’m of the opinion that a weeping seal isn’t an issue. My rear seal actually used to leak, then it slowed to a weep. I don’t usually have to add any to it for about 6-7 month. And then, it is only MAYBE. 1/4 of a quart it less.

I just had shoulder surgery a few weeks ago so I can't really do any auto work right now. I'm getting my brakes done next week, I think I am going to just have a new seal put in as a prectaution. Also have the breather line checked as well. I have an oem seal at home so for a a bit of extra labor it makes sense just to do it again. Its weird the seal lasted 30k. I wonder if when the diff puked from the clogged vent, that it caused damage to the seal.
