I am selling the stock skid plate off of my '13 Taco and someone that has an '05 Gen 1 five lug Taco wanted to know if it would fit his truck. My good friend Tim at TRD Sparks Toyota told me that the five lug trucks did not come with a skid plate installed, but I was wondering if the mounting bolt holes, etc. were still on the five lug chassis? Has anyone tried putting a Gen 2 skid plate on a five lug gen 1? Any help or advice is GREATLY appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ken

My guess would be no. The Gen2 is wider than the Gen1 so you'd probably need to do extensive cutting to clean the lower control arms.

    Edit:
Reading is fundamental. Saw this posted in the Gen1 forum and thought the 5-lug was a Gen1.

    stock, for now
05 and 13 will interchange. It wont interchange between 05-14 and 01-04

You should edit the title. Anything over 05 is second gen. You are asking if a skid plate will fit gen 2 to gen 2
