I'm not willing to tell other people how to live. Everyone must weigh the options and make their own choices.

Once the 'safetycrats' take over, off-roading, skydiving, skiing, etc. become activities we must 'save each other' from.

Well apparently the monitors were not working properly. You may not die quickly but the brain cells go first.

Roughly when did that become common? Not just for Toyota, in all applications?

    We test 100% every morning.

Devout, nothing you have posted has proven anything. Yes, the introduction of cat convertors greatly reduces the amount of CO produced by a combustion engine but does not mean that it can no longer kill you. You attempted to say, or strongly implied, that a modern vehicle with properly functioning cats does not produce CO, period. That could not be further from the truth and plenty of people have died from the exhaust of modern vehicles. Comparing those deaths to being trapped in a confined space and dying from dehydration is extremely ignorant.

Most all aluminum block engines use a steel sleave for the cylinders. Given the thin wall make up of the sleave, you cant bore it when rebuilding an engine. If the cylinder walls arent damaged, you might be able to hone it and re ring the pistons to regain compression, however......most all times Ive seen an engine loose compression due to an issue with the piston, the bore needed to be over bored to regain its use.

Could be a leak, but also it was stated that the tailpipe was blocked on the vehicle.

A German manufacturer started it in the 80's.

Cheaper to manufacture, more durable and higher performance. Has zero to do with emissions.

Maybe not but you are giving misinformation that could be dangerous. Again. The monitors were not working properly.

From here on I've decided not to waste my time arguing with someone who is DEVOUT to their own beliefs regardless what the risk is to others.

OP, please don't risk yourself. It can be very bad. If it doesn't kill you, it will damage your brain cells as proven above.

Yes I have. I've been in spaces that required a certified gas-free engineer clear before I entered them, I've worn multiple styles of gas pager/monitors and respiration equipment.

And you are right...Lots of things can kill you, but executing bad ideas because of misinformation isn't good. It is still a fact that a modern FI engine can kill you...Might not be common or likely, but dismissing it as impossible is wrong.

Could have had no CAT (Year), Could have had no CAT (removed), could have had a faulty CAT (leaded gas or excess oil consumption).

Too many variables to make a life rule around. :)
