The canister on my 02 is under the truck bed. I wish the canister was under the hood tbh.

Thanks anyway. I managed to get it back together just looking at the hoses.

It's a 2.7. See the 16 valve sticker on my intake manifold? I've got the same engine

I believe in 98 they upgraded to the larger canister “box” in the same location. Then in 01 they moved the box below the bed by the gas tank.

This is exactly like mine. It doesn't hurt to double check. Thanks.

I should mention if you even get any problem with the EVAP system and your VSV valves are ok and there are no leaks. You should check their connections for resistance or contact. Hadn't I taken the Canister down this week to make sure it was ok. I would still be thinking the canister was the issue.

Last night I Checked a few connections and a particular connection was the issue it had to be moved a little to maintain contact. The check engine light was on before I replaced it as soo as I made the repair I turn the truck on and the CEL disappears. I hope this was the problem. 20190720_154444.jpg
