I'm 6'4" and this has happened more than once: I pull up to a stop sign, see no cars that the 4-way stop, and just as I start to pull forward a car pulls out from behind my rear view mirror!

    Solutions?

I've thought about either ripping it off (literally almost have tried it once or twice) or moving it higher up on the windshield.

    Any thoughts or ideas?

I'm with you on that, I'm 6'-4" as well and I've just gotten into the habit of ducking to look under the mirror to check for traffic. Sucks but I don't think moving it up will help enough.

Well, I sure would be able to see a whole lot more with out it, and Washington State law says you only need two out of the three mirrors to be street legal...so I was thinking about just taking it off...

Just got it, so none yet.
Move your head about 3 inches and look around the mirror? Maybe I don't get it since I'm not 6'4...

This is funny I told my wife the other day when we where driving that the mirror is in my line of sight and that I have to move around to see good. I am 6'5" and I know exactly what you are talking about.

I moved my mirror up as high as it would go .Now the little sliding extenders on the sunvisors are useless.

Not in the tacoma (I'm not as tall as you) but this DID used to happen to my in an '87 Honda Civic. I eventually figured out I could adjust the the mirror up.

i'm 6'5 and i also think that the rear view mirror is in a terrible spot. my solution is to look over or under it at 4 way stops.

And do you plan on ripping it out or are you not as annoyed as I am?

Yeah I have the same problem being 6'1". I moved mine up to the top of the travel on the mirror but its not ideal.

Its small size of our rear windows, cant move the mirror without it being blocked by the roof...and try to find gun racks that will fit in our rear windows, going to have to fab some up.

Do you literally just "pull it off"?

Mirror flip is an option in non-backup camera trucks. If you have a TRD package with a backup camera, the situation becomes a bit more complicated.

Personally, I like the Taco's low-ceiling design and feel of the cockpit (or whatever they're calling it now) in general.

Well tomorrow is Saturday so I should have some time to play around with it. I'll try your first suggestion and flip it over or around and see how that "feels." If that doesn't work I'll try pulling it off.

No no, simple rear view mirror. No electronics! That'd definitely be a different story!
