Did you use the x or the 1x u joint? Everywhere I've read says to use the greasable units. Anyone tried the moog 270? Rock Auto doesn't have the Dana 513301x.

Non-greaseable for me. I'm lazy at checking them; so, no use getting greasables.

I have a 2015 with 32,000 on it bought it band new and it started making that same noise after I took it in for the 30,000 mile check up. I'm taking it in tomorrow to see if they can find out what the hell it is, dang noise is driving me nuts, only cause its a brand new truck. Any more ideas so i can have them check those too? thanks for the feed.

let us know what they say. right now my truck is parked because i'm waiting on a new u joint and center support bearing. i'm hoping that's the only thing that was clicking. if i get all that work done and something is still making noise i'm going to be extremely disappointed.

Just a thought, you could liberally hose down one leaf pack with WD-40 and see if the noise goes away for a while. It might point you in the right direction.

OP, glad you got this fixed. Sorry, haven't been on for a while. I realized I should have been clearer. The springs I was talking about are the pad clips for the disc brake pads. Depending on the vehicle and pads used there can be a clicking noise from the brakes when applied and released when they wear. They apply a spring like pressure to the pads within the caliper bracket.

alight guys. found the click, fixed it, and the truck is back up and running. the click was a perfect storm of worn out drive line components. three u joints and one carrier bearing were replaced and now the truck rides smoother than ever and quieter. all i can hear now is humming from the tires. carrier bearing was saggy and when i went to replace that, i realized the rear u joint had a ridiculous amount of play in it. when i removed the u joint at the axle, the needle bearings inside one of the caps has basically turned into paste. everything is well again and the taco is feeling good.
