If you download the toyota app and enter the vin on there it lists the options.

Or look in the engine bay. Do you have a tranny cooler, and a pink hub on the radiator fan?

The easiest way to tell is to look for the transmission cooler in front of the radiator on the drivers side. Also, look for the engine oil cooler hoses under the the engine oil filter.

The pink fan clutch is not a positive way. Some people have reported a pink hub with no towing package.

This is the engine oil cooler.

If he got the manual trans it wouldn't have a trans cooler at the radiator. Foolproof is the alternator. Only tow package trucks got the 130 amp one

Check for: 27 battery, receiver with a 7 pin plug, transmission cooler if you have an auto, oil cooler as pictured above, larger alternator...or download the app and search by Vin but I've never done that for my truck.

Bluezzy, My password quit working for some reason (I had it written down). Called Toyota and they got back to me and tell me they deleted my account: create a new one! I guess all my service records will be gone when I go create a new account.
Unbelievable that they couldn't just reset my password.

I really dont know for sure but I would think your service records would be stored with your vehicle VIN number. My problem is that I seen a few months ago that my supercharger was installed at 16k, I brought it up and looked it over and was glad to know that information. Then a few months later I was browsing around in there and noticed that, that particular document no longer existed... THEY must have deleted it.

Can you look at the alternator and tell if it is the 130? What to look for? Thanks.

This. And get a print out. It'll answer a ton more questions about your truck if they come up.

See pics. If it looks like that it's the 130amp one. This is from a 2014.

your service history doesnt get deleted. if you service with a dealer is gets saved by VIN...once you open a new account and type in the VIN...everything should come back up.

Well that's a relief. Still scratching my head as to why I couldn't just reset my password.
I do like the app though.
