I let a friend play with my marinade once.

I still wouldn’t lend him my truck.

I mean, it's a truck bed. It's supposed to get scratched up. If he scratches the paint or anything then there's a problem. If he's a friend let him borrow it.

I absolutely agree with you. But my answer would still be "NO". I can see our friendship coming to an unfortunate end if something happened to my Tacoma.


It also depends. What is he taking to the dump? Some people are very careless when throwing things into the bed of the truck. You'll get scratches on the bed as possible dents, dings, scratches on the body of the bedside/tailgate. If he is really loading up dirty trash, he may have grease that may transfer to the interior of the truck.

These are NOT cheap trucks and all my friends know I don't mind helping but I will be the one who loads the truck up myself. I love my friends dearly but I also know two of them are quite sloppy.

I'm also good enough as a friend to not ask to borrow certain things from my friends. I don't want that responsibility looming over me. I also wouldn't borrow my buddies new truck to haul a bunch of crap with fear of damaging it. I would just rent a cheap truck .

 

I have some lifelong friends. Real salty, calloused up DGAF friends. It could be that if I loaned out my truck, it might come back with a scratched bed. I’d trade ten trucks for my people, eleven if I could, and they’d do the same for me. The truck doesn’t matter. My friends and I don’t sweat the small things. None of us have played the pangolin at a wedding.

 

^ Everyone is different and thats ok. I do a lot of things for my friends as they do for me as well. Borrowing my brand new truck to throw trash away gets a "NO" Not a dickhead no but "Naw". Let me help you toss it away and I'll be happy to load it and toss it with you. Simple as that.

In the end, I would hate to ask for $ from a buddy of mine. That's why I wouldn't give the opportunity

I went a couple years without a truck. It sucked.

I bought my current truck so I'd never have to ask to borrow one.
