    Dude it’s just a Tacoma. It’s not like it’s a $100k Mercedes

Yeah totally. I’m not judging your friendships or anyone else’s in seriousness. We are all differently. I’m just saying that from my personal perspective, while I love and adore my truck, I baby it with rust prevention, I don’t baby it as far as usage, and I wouldn’t mind. I get the logic of not loaning things out.

I'd be more than happy with helping someone out with brush/trash/oversize objects.
But with a manual transmission vehicle, with a large clutch pedal throw and notchy shifter, I'm not loaning it out.

I learned from past experience when loaning things out. I'm ocd and sometimes things bother me. I allowed a buddy of mine to drive my 2 year old Audi S4 years ago in the past. He sat in the driver seat not thinking about his keys being locked into his pant loops. Well, his keys dug into my pristine leather driver seat. That was not a cheap fix and he never could reimburse me back for the full amount. I never pursued $$$ from him and we're still great friends. He just never asked to borrow my vehicles again.

When you get older, you learn through life experiences. . .

It's my Mercedes, I'd take it over the Mercedes all day if it was the same price.

Very interesting to see everyone's responses though!

You're a good friend. Hopefully he acknowledges that its a new truck and treats it as such. In the end, chances of something bad happening is minimal....cant be so uptight and stress over every little detail in life.

I have not read anybody’s post except yours, much less the 11 pages this thread has gone. With that being said, if he needs to barrow the truck let him barrow it. Remember.... it’s just a truck. It’s just a truck. It. Is. Just. A. Truck.o_O:confused:

I'd say no to letting him borrow it but offer to help instead. And let him wash your truck after .
Seriously, this is the absolute worst part of owning a truck, everyone and their mother asks for help hauling stuff.

If you have a manual, it seriously cuts down on that scenario and is only getting better as each year goes by

I have an automatic Tacoma, but my other cars are manual and nobody asks to borrow them. However, what’s sometimes worse, is you get someone who wants you to teach them on your car and fry your clutch
