Just drive his stuff to the dump for him. I wouldn't let anyone borrow my truck, I'd go out of my way to help the guy and do it myself before I let anyone drive my truck. I don't even let my wife drive unless I'm drunk and I trust her more than anyone else.

I just watched Indecent Proposal on cable earlier, so ...

Don't do it. It may seem OK to loan her out but it will eat away at you, and things might never be the same.

His friend kicked the side of his truck, and then jumped up on the hood....on his own truck. What would he do to yours?

And it’s a typical country song....

Man y’all are some dicks lol, I understand your worries but I only got like 3 real friends that would make this request and I’d loan it to them no questions asked but 1 has a tundra anyways and would never need mine. Out of the other two, one I’d probably kill for and the other has a hellcat challenger that he swapped with me the one time he asked, figured if he trusted me with that... I should trust him with the Tacoma.

When you’re young (like teens and 20’s) you help people move. When you get older you tell them to hire some fucking movers.

I posted this today on other forums and had people want to borrow it before I got it home. A simple “go fuck yourself” sufficed. 3006E807-77E9-4D6D-A926-A328CBE03A94.jpg

Ehh I’m way closer to 30 than I am my teens,I see your point though if you mean like senior citizen old and everybody’s got arthritis (just teasing,I got bad knees already).

But... anecdotally speaking my dad who’s almost 60 moved a while back and his best friend from childhood offered to drive up from 2 states away his last move just to spend that time together, kinda helped that his buddy had two teen boys for the dirty work though lol.

The friend I mentioned I would kill for lived about 200 miles away for a few years, when he called me when I was at my dads place and mentioned he was moving back both me and my dad volunteered trucks and trailers to get him back here without paying the money for movers. Everybody I’ve spoke of has their shit together and makes good money. In my experience, to keep genuinely good friends, you have to be a genuinely good friend when it’s possible.

I live by a rule, you can borrow it once, maybe twice, but if you need it a 3rd time. You need to buy your own or find another solution.

This is really a tough one!!! Once you say yes it’ll never end. I’d have to ask him what it is that he’s hauling. If it were some basic household junk that would get thrown out by hand vs broken up concrete I’d be a little less apprehensive. I guess I’d explain to him how it’s a newer truck and your very particular about it and you have honest concerns about lending it out. You can explain that if it were to get damaged then you have major anxiety and possibly harbor some resentment. I know I’d sounds kind of dick like but you can’t allow your own guilt to control you. Most people know how I am and wouldn’t even ask. As an option you can lend him the truck as long as he can rent or borrow a trailer to haul the junk in. Tough spot to be in for sure

Back in the day (in my 20’s) I helped my brother move twice cross country, yes twice with our friend, so three of us in a single cab Ford for 2500 miles. I’ll never do it a third time.

I do for my friends what they would do for me.

My friend needed a truck to tow a car recently. I immediately offered to help because I got a truck and I wanna do truck shit.

Well he asked if he could just borrow it and tow it himself. I don’t remember him ever letting me drive his old M3 so yeah I’ll pass.

And to anyone who says thats a big difference, I’ve owned a ZX10R that I’ve allowed others to ride who knew how to respect their life.
