I would say...I don't want my truck damaged, but would be willing to drive it if you rent a trailer

Nope, go rent a beater. Never loan friends your vehicle or money.

When I had a Frontier a buddy/neighbor asked to borrow it to "pick up stuff from Home Depot". I didn't like it, but I said yes. Home Depot is two miles away, so it will be a short trip, right? That's why I didn't bother driving him.

Turns out he took a 60 miles trip with it after he picked up the stuff. He hadn't mentioned anything about also delivering the "stuff from Home Depot".

    Bingo. Right here.

I've been single most of my life dew to my job and traveling but got a girl to help me pick up my car from the chevy place to get it home. She totaled my car ran into someone she was texting.

Had a friend want to go in with me on a race car years ago. fast forwarding I could not go to the track he wanted to take it on his own. told him do not hook up the nitrous. he did, rolled it car burned. he paid me 1800 then stopped paying. So much for best friends.

Rent a trucks are cheep. if anything happens while they have it your insurance goes up not his.

Cars, boats, bikes and Girl Friends do not get lent out. LOL.

You could tell them you herniated a disc and not going to risk back surgery for their purpose.
My truck is allergic to furniture and cardboard.

:mudding:Thought that is what car dealerships were for! Many people go in to test drive a pickup...just to haul something home. Not right...but it happens.

If you have any hesitation to allow someone to borrow something of yours, the answer is no. As a general rule, I do not loan vehicles or guns, but I would for a few select people for the right reasons. I would not have to think about it under those reasons. It's either an immediate yes, or anything else is no.

One thing I've noticed though, as I've always owned a stick, is that fewer and fewer people want to borrow a MT truck. What's even better is when they ask to borrow it in front of other guys and I immediately ask if they can drive a stick. Drains the life out of them to have to admit in front of a group of guys that they can't. That's when I offer to see if my daughter is free to drive it for them. She never is.

Do it, if you're his friend and if he'd do the same. As you said, is just a truck.
