I've never had to deal with this type request. I've never offered my keys to anyone.

If a close friend had insurance coverage and 'really needed a truck', I would offer to pay a days rental cost.

My brother is the only one I let borrow my truck. He lets me borrow his WRX. I love it when the turbo spools up :)
It's a manual so the driver must know how to drive a manual and if you don't double clutch downshifts you don't really know how to drive a manual.

Every Tacoma is collectable, it took me 9 months to find mine and I lived on auto row.

I'd tell them take it down a few trails, just don't go crazy like I do. Lol

I've got a manual and have taken my sister on a test drive before she could borrow it though. Lol

My brother recently asked if I could help him move some stuff. I said hell no, but I'll swap you my truck for the Carrera 911 for the weekend lol. He said no problem, but I think he really wants to borrow my back as much as the truck so that's what we'll do. It's just a truck. For me, it depends on the friend.

Because I can carry my camping stuff and sleep in the bed, not to haul garbage.

    Fuck yeah. Keeping it 100.

    I sleep there too.

    Don’t mind the scratches though.

My truck is my activity/utility vehicle, its a TRUCK, 99% of its life is sitting in my driveway waiting to be used, so I lend it out all the time... friends visiting from out of town? Stay in my guest room and take the truck while you're here. Home depot run? Take the truck. Going camping? Take the truck it already has all the gear loaded anyways... in fact I INSISTED my business partner take my truck when he took his family to Mammoth this winter, he has a 2 year old and his 4x4 is a 90s 4runner, my truck is WAY safer so if an accident was going to happen I WANTED it to be my truck getting messed up instead of his... as mine would do a better job protecting his family.

My truck and keys are always at my house and all of my good friends know the code to my door. I've even lent it out to a TW member I barely know a few weeks ago when we couldn't get his bumper on in one night so he drove my truck for a couple days until we finished.

If you guys don't have friends you trust to borrow your freaking Toyota then honestly... you need better friends. Or maybe I'm just super lucky and I should just be really grateful that I have trustworthy people in my life?? :notsure:. Doesn't seem weird to me I assumed most people have good friends like mine but I guess not lol

That’s kind of my point...carrying stuff like coolers, firewood, chairs, folding table, tents, etc. is going to scratch up the bed. It happens.

ide say no. Dumps are lawless places, shit hawks everywhere, tons of stuff that could puncture your tires, also depending on what he's taking to the dump you could end up with a dented/scratched tailgate/boxsides. Not worth it man
