Unfriend him on Facebook. Block his number on your cell. After a couple weeks, he'll get the message.

It's just a truck. My vote is to let him borrow it and worry about any damage when/if it happens.

Subbed for the post on Monday that goes "got my truck back with an 8 inch dent in the bed! WTF?!"

This would be my thought process too. Too many people think they bought a Rolls Royce or Bentley when at the end of the day it’s a mid size pickup truck.

Its always good to to help a friend in need. You could let him borrow the truck but it is understandable why would not let just anyone borrow your new truck. But if you love your friend, I would try to still help him as freely as possible. I would offer to go with him while I drive, or would even offer to pay for a rental truck that can he use unsupervised.

I would never lend my vehicle out. Nor would I ever ask to borrow someone else’s. Even just to go to McDonald’s.

This is why it pays to have a manual trans in most cases, no one ever asks to borrow my truck (not that I'd let them anyway).

I'll help out if I'm free that day but no one drives her but me. I'm not so worried about dings and scratches and more worried about someone burning up the clutch or getting it in a wreck because they aren't familiar with how to drive it.

Honestly though, a u-haul pickup is cheap for the day and he doesn't have to worry as much about getting it dirty or dinged.

Jesus. Those who would offer the friend $20 to pay for a rental are kidding right? Lol. That’s worse than saying no and then kicking them in the nuts.

Still not as bad as making the OP drive a freaking Subaru.

Gawd I’d hide the Subaru in the garage, close the door, and not leave the house until I got the truck back.

Have him rent a trailer from tractor supply...15 bucks 4 hours, or 20 bucks for 24 hours.

    Express expected babying?

Absolutely do not lend it out. You would
be worried sick he will scratch it. A simple way to handle this is to tell him that you are a fanatic with your truck and you will help him with this task. You drive it and make sure it's loaded carefully.

Thats a hard no for me. I would offer help if he is a good friend. I'm not worried about scratches and dents. I have put too much in my truck and if anyone is going to wreck/total it, it will be me.

My truck is a company vehicle, no one is allowed to drive it except for me or my wife...I love having that excuse.

    Haha...self concious?

My wife drives an outback...its actually a pretty good vehicle. Cross shopped the Rav4 before making the decision
