I took out the 3rd brake light housing but not sure how to get inside it without destroying it. It was a real pain to take out and totally unfulfilling to not be able to put in my new bulbs that probably are not going to fit anyway. Anyone have a new 3rd brake light replacement they like? TIA

    Just got a 2018.

Wondering also how to replace the bulbs if they burn out. I dont see screws on the plastic housing to be able to access the bulb.
    Your help would be appreciated.

Aren't those LED bulbs from the factory? If so, they should last a good while.

I THINK that I read the double cabs were sealed LED and the access cans were a replaceable filament style.

It doesn't have the screws on the clear lens as described in the manual. It appears to be sealed. Thanks Chew and Buck Henry.

I think Chew is right. I have an Access Cab and before I put my top on I opened the center mounted brake light with IIRC two screws and removed the bulbs so I would not have any glare.

I think on the DC you access the screws from inside the cab behind the headliner and replace the entire light assembly.

Access cab screws are on the outside. How convenient. I didn't know the bulbs could be replaced on those.

On the double cab tacoma's, the 2 bolts are under the headliner. Tons of fun. :smash: Can't replace bulbs on those.
