Can I do the BHLM if I have 3M film on my lights?

Hey Tacoma World,

I have searched hi and lo for the answer to this question without success so now I am asking all of you.

Can I do the BHLM if I have 3M paint protection film on my headlights? Mainly I need to know can I put my headlights with 3M film on them in the oven?

I know people will just say remove it BUT if I can avoid going that route I would like it as the film is expensive to have put on.

I would remove it if it were me. Baking that stuff will possibly turn it yellow.

 

How do I remove it? Also can I put it back on?

Sorry I am a complete NOOB when it comes to 3M and tinting

 

when i did the headlights on my evo x, they had the film on them. i put a fully dampened towel on a cookie sheet, then the light on that (so it wasn't plastic on metal)

it was fine when i did it. you're going to have to use your own judgement on this though. if you mess it up, is it worth it to you? i baked mine @ 200* for 25 mins

I will try putting a damp towel in the oven tomorrow if I do it.

Make sure you fully dampen the towel, that way there is a less chance that it will catch on fire inside of your oven LOL

You don't want it to be soaking wet and dripping water everywhere but at the same time you don't want any dry spots either
