That seriously sucks, OP! I agree, let insurance handle it asap.
It's most of Washington too, the stories I here about the trash and drug-fueled property crime back home (and the lack of punishment) is ridiculous. OP, you're gonna wanna drive it straight to the shop with the windows down. Having exhaust dump basically right under your seat is a huge carbon monoxide risk.

I live in Washington and can confirm that our beautiful state has turned into a dump...I used to have sympathy for all the scrounges but not any more. I also have little tolerance for the weasals that run our government and the wussies that support them. It is effing ridiculous that cat theft is even a thing. To think the great state of Texas is experiencing this BS is depressing.

Ugh..I'll bite. Why do you think catalytic converter thieves are only in Austin? What "shit" do they let fly that other cities don't?

But OP yeah get a catalytic converter guard the Taco apparently is one of the easiest to steal them from.

I never said "only" in Austin. So you're biting on something that you imagined.

You implied that they let that shit fly unlike other cities for some reason, but whatever, I guess take your shot at the city or people you don't like for your reasons.

Mannnn don't get this guy's thread locked. You know it's true, and you know it's because of the policies. I've watched my home just south of Seattle go to absolute shit in the last decade because of intentional, well-publicized policy moves to go easier on criminals, especially people who commit property crimes. That's not *the* reason, but it's a big reason why catalytic converter theft has gone through the roof.

Couldn't agree more. My parents' business shares the parking lot with a bank. One of the bank employees caught a guy mid-theft and ran out to try and stop him... The thief slid out from under the car and pointed a pistol. Needless to say he got away. Stolen cars get dumped overnight. I know at least five people who've had their car stolen in the past year. Shit like that. I know it wasn't exactly Mayberry before but COME ON.

This is happening all over the country, no one is immune. Criminal scumbag drug addicts and thugs travel far and wide to steal these things.

its very difficult to catch them unless their in the act and most places are buying them on the sly and reselling for a profit.
