Shopping around for tires and looking for an upgrade from street stock without lifting it. Currently have a the 2007 2.7l 4x4 access cab. Looking at getting either the BF Goodrich All Terrain Ko2 (265/70/17) or (265/75/16), or the Toyo Open Country A/T III (265/70/17). Will any of these rub without lift or chop?

Yes those should fit. You may have to remove the front mud flaps, or they may scrub a little. I left mine on and just lived with it when running this size though. Welcome aboard

They should fit fine. However, if you have 16" wheels you have to get 16 inch tires. If you plan on going with the 265/70/17 you would need to buy new 17" wheels along with the tires.

Seems to be the consensus they will fit, but 265/17/16 Wildpeaks rubbed on my 06 with a 1.5" lift and required some trimming. While 265/75/16 KO2s they replaced had no rub. So not a guarantee.

This is probably the most common question that gets asked on TacomaWorld. Largest side without trimming is 265/75/16 or 265/70/17.

No two trucks are created alike so no guarantee yours won't have rub, only one way to find out. Mudflaps might need to be removed. OffRoad models have been reported to clear a bit easier but that's anecdotal.

Installing a lift doesn't magically fix all rubbing - typically it has more to do with your wheel backspacing/offset.

It's not the truck so much as the tire and wheel combo. Even in the same size there are differences in tires overall dimensions. An E rated 265/75/16 is going to be a little larger than a P rated 265/75/16. A mud tire is going to be larger than a street or AT tire even in the same size. A Goodyear tire might be slightly different than a Firestone etc. And aftermarket wheels will position the tires differently than stock. When looking at section width that only measures the widest part of the tire where it bulges out on the sides. The tread width, (the part actually touching the ground) can vary between different tire brands and models even in the same size.

But generally speaking 265/75/16 or 265/70/17 (virtually the same overall dimensions) will work on a stock truck with factory wheels.
