Also with the dakars you can add a leaf or remove one. You can also install a block if you wish for more height

Im happy with the height I have and if I went higher in the rear id need to bring the front end up too. already on a budget can't blow it out of the water lol

For the cost of a roof tent you could redo the suspension on that whole truck. If it was me, I would do more research for what you're wanting and sleep in the camper shell.

First off, rear springs and new u-bolts. Some new rear shocks would probably be in order too with the new lift. Next the front and you can get as wild as you want. I would suggest starting with something simple like bilsteins and new springs front and rear. Knowing your budget would help

Yes... you have a lot of reading and research to do. Which you have come to the right place!

Springs do the lifting, shocks are the dampener. Hit Bumpstops and you gone to far.
New rear end would be leaf springs, shocks and sumo bump stops.

Okay, makes sense. if my back end is that bad is it pretty much guaranteed my front end is as bad?

Not necessarily, but you will notice a big difference with a new rear end and a used front.

Idk is these show you what youd need to see for the front end or not

I've drove on worse but, I would not put money into anything other than getting the suspension set up how you want it.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Call a wrecking yard, check Craig's, Let go, etc. Get a set of 6 lug Tacoma leafs springs (years 95.5 - 97) Then also get a set of Tacoma 5 lug (2wd) leaf springs (from a 95.5 - 97). And buy a Wheelers Off Road 1.5 inch Add A Leaf. (Toyota changed the length of the leafs after 97 so you need to get pre-97 leafs)

Take the 6 lug leafs apart.
    Take 5 lug leafs apart.
Put middle leaf of 5 lug leaf pack in your 6 lug pack just under the top spring.
Then add the Wheelers AAL between bottom leaf and overload leaf.
(You'll need longer U-bolts and center pin from Wheelers too)

This is the lift you get... I'm running 285/70R17. I got nearly 3 inches of lift. And they DO NOT sag.

This is what I carry in my Passenger side box

This is what is in the driver side

    This is the bed

I could literally chop a tree down, drag it out of the way, dig your truck out of a hole and then completely part it out to the frame, with what I carry in my boxes... And as you can see... It doesn't sag.

That might be a little advanced right now... I say just buy something bolt in. All-pro makes a full on F/R kit I think, or you can find the pieces you like best and put one together.

Depends... He says he's on a budget. My way is a LOT cheaper than buying a set of Alcans.
