Standard 1st gen Dakars do not hold the weight of an RTT and bed rack very well...I had that setup for a few months and even put an AAL in them but they still sagged pretty bad with another 100+lbs of camping gear. Swapped them out for All Pro Expos and haven't looked back.

I do miss the soft ride of the Dakars though.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

If you go full OME (with a winch and bumper) you want to go with 883 or 882 coil springs. 882s are taller but 883s have a higher spring rate.

I'm currently running Bilstein 5100s with ToyTec 620 pound coil springs (620# is a higher spring rate than OME offers)

Sorry, I buy wrecked Toyota trucks and put them back together.
These trucks get auctioned off to people like me. One of the yards is in Portland. That's the only reason I know where Portland is.

    You mean Chevy 63s?

If dude is asking these questions, that is significantly above his pay grade.

Let's stay on topic. Lets go back to your original question.

You want to haul a RTT with out having the truck sag, correct?

You want to do this cheap. Correct.

Air bags will do everything you asked and you will can retain the ride you are used to when empty.

Changing springs is expensive and it will change the way the truck will ride empty. You will hate it.

I would agree with you if his springs were in decent shape but they are shot and I would consider them unsafe as it is let alone adding weight to them. Plus it looks like he’s running a lift block too and new springs would allow him to maintain his current ride height without the blocks.

I mean this truck came from Arizona in 2013 and she got rustproofed at a ziebart shop when she arrived so she's doing pretty good IMO
With that said and the wear on my equipment and the miles on the truck(350,000) over all opinion, do I keep the truck and fix the shit out of it? Or do I look into buying a lower mileage truck with that money.
