right now i have 285-75-16 tires with 16x8 rims with 4.25" BS. Im looking to upgrade to some beadlock wheels and maybe push my tires out some more as well. I was thinking about 16x8 with 4.00" BS or 16x8 with 3.75" BS. Right now with the 4.25 i dont rub cause i trimmed some black plastic inside the fender well but will i rub on my UCA or on the frame with 3.75" or 4.00" BS?

im running 16x8 with 3.625" backspace and 285-75

4" backspace will sit just right with stock fenders and bedsides...

less than 4" and you may end up rubbing on pinch weld or even on flares at full turn...

you could always go as crazy as 3.625" and run glass fenders and you will clear fine...

yep... beadlocks could be more hassle than worth...

    maybe consider a streetlock wheel...

the less backspaced wheels will make the tire stick out farther making it have more clearance on the uca and frame. right?

I have the SR5 package so i dont have the black fenders but right now with the 4.25" BS my tires sit outside the fender wall about 2.5"s. And ya idk about beadlocks all i really want is some type of black rim with red because my truck is red. and i would like my tires to sit out a little bit more

If thats the case them i in good shape but i think the more you push ur tires out(less backspace) means the more you will rub at full turn or drop

Buy some of the cheap 1/4" spacers on ebay and put them on with ur wheels for a test fit I think there like 25 a pair but its cheaper then getting wheels you hate that rub. I am not saying run these non bolt on spacer for a long time I think they are unsafe. As far as wheels you want whats called streetlockor fake beadlocks.

the more backspace you have, the likely you are to rub the inner corner of the tire on the frame at full turn, and the upper sidewall on the stock UCA...

the less backspace you have, the likely you are to rub the outer corner of the tire on the pinch weld, or stock running board, or the front lower valance of the bumper at full turn...

i have run everything from 4.625" to 3.625" backspace and it's a matter of finding the happy medium..

with the stock parts on the truck, i found that 4" had the least amount of rubbing on either side of the tire...

what can help is to keep the caster of the front wheels between 1.25 and 1.9 degrees forward, and suspension lift of 1.5" or more...

at least that formula worked on my first get dcab... the xcab and reg cab sit a lil higher by design, so you won't need as much adjustment as the dcab does...

without the black flares, 4" or less backspace will give you that "skateboard" look, but you may have to go with 4" to avoid the rubbing...

well going to 4.00"bs would only add another .25" of tire sticking out of the fender walls so i doubt it would give me the skateboard look. Thats correct that it will only add .25" of tire sticking out if i go from 4.25bs to 4.00bs right?

most wheels are simulocks (fake beadlocks) which are legal to run on the street. unless it says "beadlocks" they are most likely simulocks

Which wheels were you looking at getting?

i had the series 52 streetlocks and the ring and bolts can be removed...

the guy i sold them to took the rings off and painted them red...

i think you can get those wheels for $85 to $125 per wheel...
