We did a trip last year from here in Iowa out west through Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska. Was about 4800 miles round trip.

Oh and we left Sunday and were home the following Sunday afternoon only because we stopped in Lincoln for the night to sit in the hot tub.

It was a pretty awesome trip. Another few days would have been ideal but we made due with what time we had. Still felt like there was plenty of time to go do stuff and not rushed like we had to get somewhere.

I assume its 200 miles per day? If that's the case, rent it for 3 days and do your 600 mile trip in one day then park it for the next two days. Problem solved.

Considering my height, weight, length of trips, and the fact that I basically already threw out a sunroof model since my head is touching, not really :)

I already have that. Going through the lemon law process right now. Taking a Longshot here lol.

That's the one thing I'm unsure about. I assume that my complete coverage would suffice. It seems to be good enough for rentals and dealerships.

    Sorry, what's RDU? Thanks.

Might be what I have to do. Was hoping to not spend $450 lol.

if you need to drive 1000miles to see if you like the truck, maybe the truck is not for you.

I have driven 462k miles in total for our last 3 Tacomas. I cannot decide if I like to drive them or not. Time will tell. This is fact.

Maybe. There's also a sentiment in this forum especially that people that complain should have taken longer test drives.... Damned if you do, damned if you don't..

Find another dealer. Mine rents by the day, unlimited miles. My family rents them for trips over 1k miles every 2 years or so.

Take a look at Turo, I can rent a $100,000 car for less than a couple hundred no problem. But I don't want to rent a Model X or a Lambo, I want to buy a Tacoma :)

Thanks, will check. I just went through Toyota website and checked the nearest 4 dealers back in the day. Only my closest even had one in stock to rent so I wasn't able to compare policies. I just figured they would be the same.

This is literally a response to the statement you made about the statement I made about the statement you made about the question I made. I think that sums up Tacomaworld pretty well, I might actually be in the right place after all... :)

For that price, does it come with a happy ending? <3

I like this thread. If anyone would like to lend me their truck for 3 years please let me know. I’m curious to see how well it does in 3 years compared to mine so I can have solid proof that Toyota need to give me a free Tacoma. Thanks guys.
