It's less Tacoma and more mod
It's one of those Stance Nation guy's wet dreams, just picture it on a Civic with broken camber adjustments.

Wait until your current tires need replacing, then put 285/75R16 on your new 16 x 8.5 wheels. How much does a CMC cost in your area?
    Or just get 16 x 8...

    I had 265-75 16 km2 on stock off-road wheels.

Bought 16x8 procomp wheels and had my current tires put on, not a single issue.

Not a question of if it will work, it will.

    You just sacrifice manufacturers warranty.

I can't find any, but maybe I'm not looking in the right places. I'm looking at the MB 352s... Do you know of any other wheels that are similar looking that might be sized correctly?

Look up your tire specs online. Most have a range of acceptable wheel width of 2 inches.

I'm willing to bet that an 8" wide wheel would be fine. The specs will have the wheel width range though.

I ran 255/85-16s on 16x8" wheels with no problems whatsoever. I also aired down to 10-12 psi every time I wheeled.

Which manufacturer warranty, wheels or tires? Because if it's tire warranty, then I don't really care all that much...

    :gossip: Don't worry, he will.

Appears to me the problem is OP's stuck on a wheel he's selected, and can't belly up to the correct tire size.

Or stand to wait till he can do them together. Instant gratification and all that.

Doesn't seem all that interested in learning the 'real' issues and considering alternatives.

No offense OP. But lots of good suggestions/info/references have been offered, and you just seem to be seeking 'tell me my way is good'.

    Enjoy!

    OP.
I run the OEM spare at all four corners. They measure 16x7. OEM tire size was 267-70-16.

Currently I'm running 285-75-16's without issues.

When I air down to 10psi in the rear and 15psi in the front, still, no issues. Don't overthink this.

    Good luck.

If it means anything to you, I'm running 15"x 8" wheel with 12.5" wide tire here... Air down to 13psi a lot, never had a problem.

You caught me on the instant gratification... And I do appreciate the advice of all of you who have contributed to my thread. I was hoping to have a plan all put together so that, when the time came for a but of spending, I wouldn't be running around with my head cut off then.

I will throw out there, I merely asked to see what the general advice of the forum would be... I never said I would disregard what anyone said, but instead attempted to find a solution in as many ways as I could.

    Thanks

You do realize his question is the opposite, right?

Smaller tire on a larger wheel.

Yes it will work. Is it the best fitment?

I think you have the info you need.

BTW, the techniques of research apply to all types of street vehicles/wheel/tire combos. You can use the knowledge gained on how to research for anything else you may need to shoe.

It's still a 10.5" wide tire on a 8.5" wide wheel. How's it opposite in any way
