I love the "composite" bed. It works perfectly fine for 99% of whatever someone is going to want to do. It is not just "plastic". Somewhere I saw a video, probably an old commercial, showing some guys throwing HUGE tree stumps into the back of a Tacoma. They are lighter and rust-free.

    Not going to brag.
I remember when Toyota introduced the composite bed. The television add said that if you were ever able to brake it, Toyota would replace it for free. Been on lots of Tacoma forums and I've never read about anyone breaking their bed. I work with plastics, and it's good strong stuff if engineered to be. I have had over 1400 pounds in the back of my truck when I hauled a load of retaining wall blocks about 15 miles. I was impressed by my so called "flimsy" plastic bed. I'll never do it again because driving a truck that overloaded was not safe at all.

So who has actually broken a bed?
