Crap OP, that's the ticket right there. How the heck is it or something equivalent not available boggles me. It's been a reoccurring thing with me of wanting niche things, not because they are niche but actually having the use-case.

Fordable harbor freight job if on a budget, if not just do the motorcycle specific trailers.
    Damn beat me to it.

Thats literally the same price as a kendon trailer or 5x8 or 6x10 brand new enclosed trailer. Obviously this method takes up less space, but realistically..commmmon!

The real solution here is a Honda Grom.

Yeah, I don't see how there's any advantage to that thing, even if it were anywhere close to the price of a decent trailer.

I’ve carried dirtbikes on hitch carriers and they are kinda sketchy, couldn’t imagine putting a busa on one, might not even fit if you have swing arm extension on it :bikewheelie::bikewheelie::bikewheelie:

    Here’s a thought OP.

    How about another motorcycle?

Something small that does things the Busa cannot. Like a 2 stroke dirt bike. That would fit on a hitch hauler no problem.
If they can be plated in your state that would be even better.

I always say if your current motorcycle doesn’t do everything you want the obvious solution is more motorcycles.

Actually that was my first thought, get an old ugly 250cc that nobody in their right mind would steal. But I don't need another bike in my tiny garage.

That looks like it would take more storage space than a hf 4x8.

Not knowing if storing a trailer is an issue nor your budget I am very happy with a utility trailer that I bought.I went to an actual trailer store and bought a 5' x 10' open trailer for about $1300.00 six years ago.It has 15" tires and carries a 900 lb bike easily.

This for sure. I have a 4x8 open utility trailer (15" wheels) that I've modified over the years to carry 3 bikes easily. First mod was just installing some removable wheel chocks. Then I installed some side extensions to put the h-bar straps at more of an angle to help stability. I built a hinged ramp for it out of angle iron and expanded steel sheet, too.

Also hauls dirt, rocks, sheets of plywood and drywall, etc... I have plans to modify the sides

It's pretty damn stable too. 70mph easy.

    Yep, or Honda Ruckus.

Agreed. I have a 690 Enduro as my only bike. No trailer.

    Street bikes are dumb. :anonymous:

Anyway, my first ~300lb "dual sport" (aka street legal dirt bike) I carried it on a MotoTote hitch rack and it was so stressful. The hitch I have is rated for 500lb tongue weight and have the OME leaf springs.
    on-truck-side.jpg

With my current bike, I had to take it to the shop and leave it, so I borrowed a Harbor Freight tray style hitch rack for the heavier KTM (~320 lbs).
    IMG_0778.jpg

I would not want to use these again for more than just shuttling a bike around locally - especially for mountain driving - with a larger bike.

Remember basic physics. A 350lb bike on a 2' long lever is applying 700 pounds of torque on the hitch. A 500 pound, about 1k. A light dirt bike is putting the tongue weight of the hitch to it's rated capacity.
