Can I mix Gear Oil..?

    I have a 1.5 quarts of it between the front and rear diff.
    I'm changing the fluids in the diffs and t.case at 5,000 anyway.
    Do not use it in the transfer case.

    K & N filter, 275 70 17 Cooper AT3, OME Nitrocharger shocks, 884 Springs, Dakar leafs.
    My 4runner picked up 1 or 2 mpg going to all syntactic fluids my truck maybe .5 mpg...

    You absolutly can tell when they are low on grease and need to have it added.

    Hey guys... I was just asking what I should ADD to the low front diff.....!! I think the Toyota gear oil is synthetic... IS IT..?

    My front diff is LOW... I want to add OIL.... should I use Synthetic, because what is in there now IS synthetic..??

    I don't know.... this is why I asked.... Does Toyota use synthetic gear Oil...????

    Yes/No.. anyone..??

    YES!!!!!!!!!!! just use 75w90 synthetic or regular it will not hurt anything

    Add any gl5 rated oil. 75-90. Its what is reccomended for our diffs.

    Random tangent question: I see people using something more like 75w140 sometimes in their diffs (e.g., it's recommended by ECGS in their re-geared diffs). Any benefit or difference in running the thicker?

    The thicker the oil the harder for one of the wheels to slip.

    Alot of people use this trick to get more traction in the snow..

    Its also used alot in vehicals that do alot of towing.

    Yes, it's synthetic.
    You would be hard pressed to find a 75W-85 GL5 that isn't.
    Now, what they derive the synthetic from...:notsure:

    You are right ... I am hard pressed to find 75W-85... That shit don't exist in the Non-Toyota Dealership world...!!

    Thank you for the come-back... I think I'll just add 75W-90 synthetic, that I CAN get from local auto supply...
