^Try Lucas 75W90 synth. I find it stinks less than competing brands such as Castrol. Canadian Tire carries it I believe.

The 75W140 rating means the oil is less likely to break down at higher temps. So if you do burnouts or cause a lot of wheelspin :D, by all means use 75W140. Otherwise 75W90 is fine. Personally I used 75W90 synth in the rear diff the first time around and got some chatter. The chatter went away with 75W140 synth, so that's what I've been using since.

For the front diff and T-case just use 75W90. These two units do not heat up the oil much.

I have to disagree on the transfer case fluid.

It has synchros and a lot of GL-5s have high sulfur/phosphorus content.
I'd at least look for one that is synchro-safe; but even then, they have high sulfur/phosphorus content.

From my research, I highly suspect LF fluid to be some kind of manual transmission oil with an additive package.
I bit the bullet and bought the LF fluid.

Hey, I ran into the same problem...the people here at Warrenton Toyota (Warrenton, VA) are condescending, rude and won't do shit for you and tell you that you have no idea about what you are talking about. I will never do business with them again...It's unbelievable that a dealership would have such an attitude towards their customers...

Oh, I know. I wasn't satisfied with any of the argunments here...for or against.
    What if they screwed up?
    Show me a double-cardan on +'05.
The transfer case looks like a transmission rather than a hypoid gear; guess I'm just silly like that.:D

I just ran into this same issue! Dealer was super rude about giving me 75w85 for my front diff. All I need is half a cup to top it off. Said they don’t sell it over the parts counter and if I want it I need to book a service appointment :annoyed: knowing them they would charge me for a full flush and all new drain seals. Wasn’t pleased so I went to Canadian Tire for 75w90

RED LINE has by far the best selection of gear oils

most ' Synths ' are better than regular gear oil

    wear better & last longer

gear oil that low is starving the outer axle bearings...…………………………...……..U didn't mention lift ( hope not )
