Can I put keyed tailgate handle into 01 tacoma and use existing key?

You can get a pop and lock with bolt codeable on it. It lets you make the lock keyed to your ignition key. You do it all by yourself with it, very simple. I have it on my truck and love it.

 

wait what?.. can you tell some more details or a link or such?
cuz i didnt think that option is available for gen 1's..
so to be sure, no gen 1 had locking tailgate?
