Can I run 265 wide tires on 7" wheel?

    for which tire size and brand specifically? I'm looking at the Falken Wildpeaks and it says 7-9 inch rims are bueno

    My truck came from the factory with 265's. I've upsized from 265/70/16 to 265/75/16. But the width of both tires is still 265 mm. The 75 vs 70 just means they are a taller tire which has nothing to do with tire width.

    FYI the 70 and 75 are percentages. With my 265/75/16's the distance between the tread and rim is 75% of the tires width, or 198.75mm. The distance between 265/70/16's would be 70% of the width, or 185.5 mm. The 3rd number is the diameter of the wheel.

    Thanks for this thread. I’m running into the same issue. I have Michelin LTX AT2 tires. 265/65R17. Recommended rim width is 7.5-9. I have an opportunity to get the 4Runner TRD Pro Wheels but they are 17X7. Will these tires be okay with a 7” wheel? Thanks for any advice!!!
