Can I still run the stock spare tire with 285/70/17 (33s) if 1 of the 33" tires goes flat?

Not sure if damage the rear end/LSD or anything.

You shouldn't. There will be a significant difference in wheel rotation side-to-side which will cause you handling problems, excessive mechanical wear, and probably send the traction control into a panic.

You shouldn't, but you could in an emergency. You'd definitely have to turn off traction control or the computer might think your losing traction. You dont have an lsd.

Run it like the emergency spare on little cars (Miniature donut)...Don't do faster than 45 mph, don't take sharp turns on hard top (Take wide soft turns)and don't drive further than 45 miles...The best thing is use it as a spare and only in emergencies...Fix-A-Flat to the rescue...

Watch one of the many YouTube videos on how differentials work to get a better understanding of the science behind what happens when you run two different size tires. As others have stated, for emergency use, you will be fine.

Fix-a-flat is a terrible idea. It can ruin TPMS sensors. Learning out to plug a tire is a better idea, and it's not hard

If you’re off-roading , since you already aired down , the spare being fully inflated, the rotational diameter might be close so I think it’s fine when off-roading.

Can 285/70 17 tire fit on the spare rim & fit underneath?

I’d limp it (with a flat or with stock spare) to the closest flat ground and rotate the spare to the front if it’s on the back. Then 2wd outa there.

This is all if you can’t plug it on the trail.

Fix-a-flat is awful. A nice plug kit is worth its weight in gold.

Don't buy a crappy plastic one. It is MUCH more difficult to get the job done with one and you don't even save that much money up front.

I was thinking of just removing the spare tire and have a 12v air compressor and plug kit.

or get a oversized spare to match 285/70 tires. I just don't know if have fitment issues, hang low, if spare rim offset make contact with factory upper control arms.

I have a question after reading some of these replies . Does any AWD or 4WD come from the factory with a mini spare ?

Does anyone have a picture of a 285/70 17 tire mounted underneath the bed? Do you have it mounted on the steel rim?

On Subarus they're mini in width only. They are still the OEM diameter.

Agree as well. Had to do the same thing on the S2000 with Torsen, PITA but it works. Get a rear flat, spare to the front, full front to the rear. I have one matching 265/75/16 spare and a second stock for the front if things go very poorly.

I'm thinking about running a Used 285/70R17 Falken Wildpeak A/T3W 117T - 10/32 on the steel rim which is 7.5" wide. The tire shows it's compatible with a 7.5" rim. I assume I just need to bends the two large tabs? Anything else?
