So I just picked up an '99 runner and it has the e locker as a parts truck. I may eventually build it up. It has a warped axle on the driver side. Sooo options I am thinking..

    1. Remove my axles an install them into the runner housing and do all the wiring.

    2. Sell e locker buy air lockers from East Coast +new axles bearings and seals (total overhaul)

Im wanting away from one tire fire stock diff! Just need to know if i can swap my axles into the runner, re gear, and roll with it?

Sorry. I have a 2004 dbl cab LSD. I have been kicking the idea of lockers around when i found a 99 prerunner for a 600. Its beat to shit but the drive train is fairly decent. The driver side axle is slightly warped from the guy curbing it. Im trying to decide if a want air lockers and new axles. Or can i just slide the axles out of my 04 and transplant them directly in to the runners?

Dimentionally I think they're the same (axles) but is your "parts" truck auto or manual ?? As theres a difference in rear diff gear ratios.

If you are auto & so is pre runner, or vice-versa i'd say your good for a swap until you get to the electronics, not sure how this would figure in as far as onboard CPU & controls type shit...

Your a non TRD open diff 4x dbl cab huh.... haven't seen many of those, most are TRD...

Yea man they both are auto, and the prerunner is extended cab v6. It gives me a few options if mine was to take a crap or start a pretty cool project.

The wiring is where I have issues. Would it be easier to run just a arb and o.b.a. or start swapping cpus and crap like that. Which I don't like the idea of and Im doing this by myself.

The whole TRD part I didnt care about at the time cause I needed a truck asap. Now i wish i would have but hey!! Bigger is better right!

I'm sure theres gotta be a thread about this type of conversion, if not here maybe TTORA or simliar forum...

Theres 3rd party lockers that are probably more straight forward & easier to integrate, sorry I dont have an answer for ya, just not sure myself...
