Im running the Polk MM1 6.5" component speakers in my 07 Dcab. Theses sound freggin great except i hate that the sound is mostly comming from my feet. So i bought some Dayton Audio RS75-4 3" full range speakers to bring the sound up higher. I was originally going to run them off headunit power( and i still might) and put the tweeter/ fullrange in the sail pannel or pillars. But i was thinking since the Polks come with crossovers can i just swap out the tweeters for the Daytons? And if so would i even have to run the tweeters? I ran the Daytons for a min or so like this and they make everything sound a million times better. I was just worried id blow them or do some damage to the system in some way.

they can run off the crossovers, no problem. don't even need the tweeters. any speaker is a cone attached to a coil of wire placed near a magnet. it makes little electrical difference which speaker is connected.

the trick is to not tell the crossover ;)

Sweet! Thanks for the info. Ran it like that all day and sounded so much better with the sound raised up higher.
