I have a 2000 SR5 2.4L Tacoma, lug pattern 5x114.3, with my lift kit I used 31" tires with -12offset. Recently i've been getting a lot of broken and frozen lugs... I did not use a torque wrench due to my brother misplacing it, so I did have a few lugs loosen off on it's own and a couple which did freeze on.
Over all question, are my tires to large for this truck (I mean to the point where lug nuts will be loosening, falling off on their own and freezing on.)
    Thank you.

No, its the not having even pressure causeing the issues. You might have to replace a bent stud or two. Are you usi g the correct style lug nuts?

    No.

But improper maintenance and/or installation will.

always torque the lug nuts. a picture of wheels and lug nut would be nice. also depending on your wheels there are 2 types of lug nuts acorn and ET lugs. Using ET lugs is better due to the short stud Toyota uses on these trucks.

This is the Gorilla lugz I use, only cause the regular lugs i can't put on.
I currently have my stock wheel set on due to the nuts freezing and loosening off

Why can't you put the regular lugs on with those steel wheels?

Oh and make sure you aren't cross threading them.

And if you're doing it by hand its pretty normal for you to have to stand on a tire iron to get them off. My cousin got a flat and I went to her place to supervise while she change the tire ( if you're driving you should know how to change a tire). She's 100 pounds soaking wet and she was jumping on the tire iron, but a swift kick later and they came off. I wouldn't call this "seized" because I didn't need to get the torch out.

becuase my rims i had the problems with are very tight fitting. the rims in the pic are not the rims in question.
I stood when they froze on, i weigh roughly 160 and used liquid wrench, neither worked. they snapped off. Idk for sure if they were crossthreaded but it was more than 3 that froze.

It tells me the offer couldn't be found.

If its a torque wrench, I'd be really hesitant. I question the accuracy.

I bought their torque wrenches. They work fine, just don't last forever is all. I did all my suspension work, driveshaft, wheels, headers etc on my GTO with their torque wrenches. No issues at all.

I never said it wouldn't work, I just wonder if 80 foot pounds is 80 foot pounds.

Simple to test, adjust if required.

Most of us are building internal motors with these things. Just a few bolts that dear old Dad would have said 'tight enough'. And been within 10% when you checked his work

They've been tested and compared to Snap On torque wrenches and have been found to be the same accuracy. This may not be true for every single one produced, but it's lug nuts.

If you're nervous, buy something better. A $10 torque wrench is a far better alternative than having lug nuts loosen themselves while driving and shearing lugs from over tightening, which was the point.

At $10 there's no excuse not to have any kind of clue what torque values you're using.

If you sheer a stud you've got some big muscles, some mad leverage or compromised studs.

However, I know too many people who lose wheels because they didn't torque them. I normally use a torque stick on an impact gun and then once it's on the ground I go over them again with a torque wrench, just to double check and make sure I didn't miss any.

I have big muscles. So I use a cheap torque wrench.
