    I believe it's a felony.

Anything could have happened. Me for example I bought my truck on a Saturday and got deployment orders 2 days later.

I had the truck for 3 months then it sat in my garage for 8 months. Could have been something similar

I don't even have 3K yet on my 2015. Don't drive it in the winter and WFH keeps the miles off ALL my vehicles.

Some people just have to have shit to worry about I guess!

I bought my 2019 OR with just over 4K on the clock. Truck still looked and smelled new. It never once dawned on me that someone was trying to fuck me over. Chillax brother!

It's doable but takes effort. Look at the brakes, undercarriage, belt and the like. How much wear is on everything? Are the hoses nasty? Other rubber? How much wear is on the suspension and steering components? How do the fluids look? How much damage is there to the front paint? Windshield?

Just applying your taste of chicken to the odometer reading is more of an ego stroking exercise on your part than investigatory work.

Take a look at the amount of wear on the tires, tread should be pretty close to brand new. If they are close to bald something screwy is going on.

Yeah it's a felony in the US. THE FEDERAL ODOMETER TAMPERING STATUTES | CIVIL | Department of Justice

The previous owner would have to have been pretty desperate to roll it back.

It's not at all uncommon for vehicles that are a few years old to have very low miles on them. People have multiple vehicles and just don't put a lot of miles on all them.

I personally wouldn't worry about it.

Okay you keyboard expert! Lol, it definitely ain’t that fast, or easy. It needs to be mated to the ECU. MAYBE it can be done with tech stream. When I replaced the cluster on my gen2 I needed to go to the dealer to get it programmed (and also to reflect correct mileage)

I've known some people to disconnect their center cluster to where the miles wont read when it's driving. It also turns off all of the center cluster dial, speed, tach etc. It was an older roll back dial for the mileage. But you could drive it.

THis might not be the case and probably just wasn't driven that much

    I have 39k on my 13, a 3.9k/yr avg.

I also have different than stock tires.

    Feel better?

For all you know the PO upgraded tires, took one road trip, got sick and died and the family just now disposed of it because it took a yr to clear probate.

Some folks just worry too much.

Honest question, how many maintenance visits would you expect to show up on a carfax report for a vehicle driven only 3,751 miles? That honestly just further supports it only has 3,751 miles; I'd be more weary if it had 4-5 events in that little of mileage. As for the tires, why is it suspicious that someone would upgrade tires?

Good point, the first maintenance check isn't till 5k miles anyway, so nothing would show up.

I worked for a dealership back in the late 90’s that was shut down due to rolling back Odometers…seriously scary morning when the FBI busted in - me and the other parts guy were drinking coffee and about lost it. Anyone in the Flagstaff, AZ area remember Joe Florek VW/Audi?

It was 2013 Tacoma. Dude had sprinter van and all sorts of gadgetry inside.

He connected instrument cluster to a wire that was connected to his laptop and voila.

    He had special screwdrivers too.
