Its also illegal to have your speedo read more than 5% off. But, who literally cares. Also, I've swapped many and many gauge clusters on past cars and trucks and swat hasnt beaten down my door.

Lots of questions, lots of interviews and a really long day of waiting our turn to do those things…neither of us had any idea about any of it but man was that a crazy time.
I don’t know how the market works my man - just sharing a story of an experience I had. I would say that a vehicle that has under 50k is much more valuable than one with say, 100k.

Ha! Had rubberized tips so it doesn’t mark the screws.

The previous owner did the service (such as oil change, transmission fluid, etc) on his/her own. Not everyone take Tacoma to dealer or shop for fix. That's why not enough information on Carfax.

Nothing is wrong with 3K miles on the truck... If I were you, leave it alone and move on.

If not happy with the miles, then sell it and get something else.

I would never do it but it can be done and is done. Most people that do it don’t bring their vehicle to the dealer for service . They also make sure they roll it back every time it’s up for inspection ( I’m in New York ) we need to inspect every year .

The thing that always confuses me is, why buy a car that you're suspicious about?

My Taco turns 2 next month. Only 3700 miles. It's totally possible.

That's right. And I see nothing is wrong with the truck. That's why it has low miles and low info on carfax. First service is 5,000 miles if have toyota care. Which he/she didn't make that far instead sold the truck to dealer.

When you roll past 105,000 miles, just put black tape of the the first two digits and sell it with only 5K on it.
