I have a 2000 with 230***miles on it. Wondering if I could tow a Subaru Justy on a dolly, which is about 1800lbs +750lbs(dolly)= 2550. I would be traveling 700miles and over 2 mountain passes. I would install a tranny cooler for sure.

You can tow that pretty easily but make sure you stall the transmission cooler beforehand.

    4.10 factory gears ?
    4cyl or 6 ?
    what tire size ?

turn off the overdrive when towing...
and the trans will hunt less and run cooler.

The added trans cooler will help...
but axle gear ratio and tire size is more critical IMO.

    should be ok...

    the 5vze with 4.10's and 32's
will be down on power a little but not terribly.
Tho' steep elevation climbs will be challenging.

    If it's an auto...
be sure to turn off the overdrive
    when towing.
This will help the trans run cooler...
and not cause it to hunt for gear selection.

I believe the 5vze is capable of towing 5,500lbs.

Tho' you should still be mindful of the tongue weight.
I don't know what the dolly's tongue weight is...
But ya don't want to overload the rear springs
as that will cause the rear suspension to sag
and raise the front, possibly causing steering issue.
^ not to mention the headlamps could be lighting the sky
    instead of the road surface.

I would think 350#'s is near max tongue weight...
especially if the rear leaf springs are factory (stock)
    But less would be better.

Do your rear springs have over-load or helper springs ?
    in other words...
Did your truck come with the factory tow package ?
