:notsure: IIRC the manual said it deactivates if the sensor doesn't read a certain weight with the seat belt engaged. It was very vague because it also says to turn the key switch (which isn't there)

ECU mistaking sensor reading from pass seat for pressure on gas pedal = sudden unintended acceleration. :(

Hhmm.............I will test this. I will randomly drop bricks on to the pass seat as I am driving to see if it happens.

any vehicle that a child seat cannot fit into the back of will have a disable switch for the passenger side air bag. access cabs have the switch, double cabs do not

Bingo, hence why sometimes my heavy backpack will set off the semi-stupid seatbelt alarm thinking it's a kid. FYI for others if this happens and you remove the bag you can set it back on the seat again and the seat knows its not a person and won't set off the alarm twice. Anyways that's it for this thread.....

My regular cab does not have the switch but the air bag on/off light adjust accordingly to the passenger seat weight.

My 25lb Beagle seems to be on the edge of that and I have to buckle the seat belt to keep the chime off. :)
