Hey community, new to the 1st Gen Tacoma, I had a 2nd Gen that was recently stolen late November. Been eyeing a couple of 1st Gen Tacomas and was wondering if anyone in the Southern California area have any insight to this 1st Gen for sale? Thanks.

Nice clean truck, but me personally...I wouldn't pay $15.5 for a 25 year old truck. If you like it, get it. "Value is in the eye of the beholder."

I agree. Thing is bad ass, don't get me wrong, but me personally I couldn't justify paying that much.

Most people look at a price and try and get the car for the best deal or like to "feel" they got it for a steal. When I look for a car I go with what I'd personally feel good about paying. If I was rich im sure 15k would feel different then it does now.

Agreed, but that's just the used market these days. Unfortunately sellers can keep asking for asinine amounts because people are still willing to drop the coin. I bring up this point a lot but I bought a 99 tacoma with 130k miles bone stock in mint condition for $6k back in 2013. Crazy how inflated the used market has become.

I'd pass unless the owner is willing to deal MUCH lower, and only after I did a full personal inspection. Most people would run it by that rare unicorn known as "a mechanic you can trust."

I paid too much for mine, but when you know it's right, you know it's right.

Price seems a little height to me for that year truck, but seller can ask for whatever he wants doesn’t mean he’s going to get a bite.

Clean truck, price is a bit high though it does have a pretty cool story.
I'm not sure I would buy at that price, though I'm not sure how unreasonable it really is anymore. Clean, lower(ish) mile trucks like these get rarer everyday, and people (like all of us here) appreciate them. Their value has only been going up (granted a lot of that may just be due to the overall used market). Still, I don't really see the value of 1st gens going down, they're getting old and beginning to approach an almost "collectible" status, in my humble 1st gen obsessed opinion.
You also have to consider the environment of half of the country slowly destroys these trucks through rust. Because of this people look to the southwestern markets like socal to buy a truck, and take back home for it to get rusted out in the midwest. This is just pushing the value of southwest trucks up more.
I know it would take 15k to get my nearly 300k mile 95.5 off my hands, but of course that doesn't mean it is really worth anything near that...

You would be paying for the mods done to the truck, which for most circumstances you don't want to do.
However, if his list of mods are exactly what you want and would end up buying anyway it could work out.
