Can someone help me identify this weird squeaking sound?

Hey everyone, need some taco experts to assist with a weird issue.

I have this weird sound that appears from my 2016 TRD Pro while traveling at 70+ mph. It sounds like a squeaky swing or something.

It sounds like its coming from the front of the truck. I've attached a video where you can hear the squeak (Don't mind the fact the dash is missing partly in this video. I was doing a head unit replacement during when I took this video a few months ago)

I've attached a video of the sound, you can hear the squeak happen briefly. This is what I've experienced since I bought the truck used a few months ago. I've had a mechanic friend do a quick once over on it just to amke sure it wasn't something obvious or something serious, but he was not able to identify what it was. He did tighten some of the underside paneling and the licence plate on the front just to make sure.

I'm at a loss, if anyone has any ideas on things to check I would be forever grateful. Thank you.

My idea is maybe some sort of whistle caused by airflow hitting something at speed. I could be way off. It's just an idea.

I definitely agree, I imagine its something probably not mechanical. Additional evidence being that when I have a headwind while driving, I can get the noise to appear while going slower.

Does it sound like it’s coming out of the vent in the video? If so, to the best of my knowledge the venting heads over to the passenger side. I’m wondering if what you’re hearing is something on the passengers side making a noise and the noise transferring to that vent. That would narrow it down. Is the cabin air filter seated correctly? Is there one installed? I’d start there.

I have a similar sound that happens as I accelerate that sounds like it's coming from the cabin filter area. A high pitched whistle that goes away after a couple of seconds.

It sounds like the infamous window wind noise that many experienced in the previous generation Tacos. It was most common on the passenger side for some reason. Toyota released a revised weatherstrip that was supposed to fix this. For my 2015, I jut put a small diameter vacuum hose in the channel of the weatherstripping on the door to help it seal better and that fixed it. That's basically what Toyota did on the revised weatherstripping. I'd check it out, especially if you get some major crosswinds that seem to coincide with the noise. I'm sure you can search and find videos of that issue replicating a noise that will sound very familiar to you!
If your door doesn't close as tightly as it did before, you could try slightly adjusting your striker to pull it in a tiny bit tighter if you don't want to experiment with the weatherstrip mod.
Good luck. I know how annoying that can be!

The 16s had a recall or a service campaign bulletin as for whistling sounds coming from the front end. The cross members or A arms had holes that required plugs to keep the air flow from making the noise. Seems like that may be your issue I think.

thanks yall for the suggestions, I'm going to do an inspection here this weekend based on all this feedback, much appreciated. Will post back with results.

Edit to not bump the entire thread again:

Doesn't seem that after I retightened a couple of the panels on the bottom of the vehicle that I can get the sound to happen, If it returns I shall post!

    Thank you again everyone!
