hey gents. this is my 3rd second gen Tacoma, but my first 4x4.

it is a 2014 off road and I don't remember my xrunner or prerunner having these capped lines.
the metal end caps spin freely, but will not fall off on their own. it almost seems like a breather for the transfer case but I may be mistaken?
its right next to the oil filler.
    thanks

if they bother putting breathers on the front, why don't they do the damn rear high up also?

J/K I think one goes to the power steering and one to front diff. But I am not sure.

This, and even if you tried to trace them back it would be difficult. There is a lone 5/16 bolt holding a clip to the top of the front diff, so it's almost impossible to trace them back to their source with the wheels on at least.

those creeper breathers are garbage. had one on my 86 and it tore open from the pressure on the first wheeling trip.

They were filler in my tg order so I could get free shipping, decided to try them out and yeah like I said garbage, just put a barbed fitting in instead and ran rubber fuel line up high with a breather on the end.

I was waiting for someone to reply about my thread on the caps for these.

Just an fyi, not sure why people think one is for the transmission or transfer case, but that is not correct. I traced both of mine, removed and cleaned them.

One if for the front diff, the other us for the front diff actuator.
