Can SR5 be a TRD?

Not quite. This USED TO BE true, but Toyota stopped including SR5 badging on TRD models some time ago. I'm not sure of the year, but believe it was ~2012.

For all those confused about option packages, many brochures are available for download. For example...

The SR5 is a package. The TRD, Sport or Offroad, is an additional package added to the SR5.

Pretty sure 2009 or 2010 was the last year for the SR5 badge. I use to have a 2011 Offroad I bought new with no SR5 badge.

Are you sure about that? The 2013 sales brochure presents them as separate packages with different options.

 

Yes. Because you can buy a SR5 or you can get the off road which has the SR5 package plus the TRD off road package. Off road adds TRD seats in place of SR5 seats. In addition to locker, atrac and bed outlet. They quit using the SR5 badge on upper levels of trim in 2012.

 

My '11 trd OR didn't come with a sr5 badge.

 

Dumb question possibly, can one get a 2011 Prerunner with the diff locker, outlet in the bed, etc? It's been debadged and there are no bedside decals.

 

Yes. You can get a TRD Off Road 2wd pre runner with the rear locker and power outlet in the bed.

 

TRD Sport comes with bilstein suspension, the color matched body panels, hood scoop, trd seats and a limited slip rear differential. There are a few other upgrades as well but those are the msot notable differences between the sr5 and trd sport.

 

Sweet, thats what I figured. She got a pretty good deal on it. $21k with 50k on it. Leveling kit, bhlm, premium audio, nice wheels and tires

 

That's the truck I have. Perfect for me. Don't really need 4x4 but having the locker there is kind of nice should I ever really need it. The seats are way better IMO than the SR5 seats, which my brother has.

 

I believe 2009 or maybe 2010 they stopped putting the SR5 badge on TRDs. My 2011 doesn't have an SR5 badge.

 

2 things I wish my prerunner has. Been considering a locker or swapping an elocker rear end in it. Gotta do something about these seats tho, with my bad back they are really starting to bug me.

Well I got a SR5 badge on my SR5 so Pffff.

 

trd editions have the sr5 ii package included. You cannot have a trd anything (2nd gen) without the sr5ii package.
so you will not see a window crank, or solid rear window FACTORY on ANY 2nd gen TRD.

 

My 09 is a SR5 with no badge. The v6 badge is instead centered where both badges wouldbe beside each other.

 

This is confusing, got my Tacoma two months ago. It's a 2012 4x4 and has been repainted but not sure if it had trd logos on the side. The tailgate says sr5 v6, it doesn't have a hood scoop or bed power plug. It does have a lsd button though. No fog lights but has inserts and electrical whips for them. It also has matching painted fenders and power windows and mirrors. Is Mine a trd ? No locking diff button though. I believe lsd is different then locking diff

You do not have a trd of any kind.

You have an sr5 package only.

 

It's crazy cause I never knew before 2 days ago that they put the sr5 badges on the trd at all. Wish this thread would have been 2 days ago hahaha. And yes I knew they had sr5 packages but had never seen the badges on the trd.
