I'd suggest not doing this. While you can accomplish it with the use of a longer center pin and longer U-bolts, you will greatly increase your rear spring rate. It would lift the rear end, but the increased spring rate will not be worth it (unless you've got serious overload issues--in which case I'd suggest going to a military wrap aftermarket leaf pack).

i want 1-1.5 inches of lift. 2 inches max, and i do want to increase the weight carrying capacity because i have a pretty heavy shell and i haul really heavy stuff sometimes. I was also just curious because the extras are collecting dust in the drive way. I have decided to disassemble the old packs and trim them down to mimic the icon progressive AAL packs. Ill let yall know how it goes.

I did this on my 2nd gen with some old 1st gen leafsprings that I had kicking around. I broke the 1st gen leaf pack apart and trimmed the two longest leafs from each pack, drilled holes in the tips to reuse the plastic pads and installed them on my '15. I put them between the overload and the other leafs. It's been a while since I did it, I'm pretty sure I had to use a new center pin and longer U-bolts. I don't notice the difference as much when I'm running empty, but it is noticeable when I'm loaded up with the trailer. It did lift the rear end a little. I'm not exactly sure how much. I doubt it's more than 2" Probably half of the lift came from the thickness of the leafspring, not their arch. They were pretty flat prior to installing them. I'm not sure on the 2nd gen, but IIRC, the 1st gen packs were different for passenger and driver side. Not sure if it made a difference or not, but I kept my home made add-a-leafs on the same sides of the truck. I'd send some pics but I'm a couple thousand miles away from the truck at the moment :(
