Can the radio button on the steering wheel be rotated?

Can the volume and preset button be rotated to where the volume button is up and down and the preset button be side to side?

I wish. Since we're talking about those decals on the buttons, my volume up, volume down, ^, and V are not even centered on the button. They are like halfway on the hump its its driving me crazy lol

I've always wondered why they laid it out this way. It make no sense. They figured it out in my 2010 Tundra. Its either an oversight or stupidity and neither are a good excuse.

 

Our Outback has a tab / lever switch on the steering wheel control. Push it up/down for volume control. IT IS THE ANSWER! Couldn't be easier to locate/feel and use.

 

The buttons match the radios display. Radio stations are ordered vertically, and the volume bar is horizontal.

 

I just got used to it.

 

It surprises me the amount of people I see complain about this here. Coming from my 2012 tundra where the steering wheel Control operated with volume up down channel left right, that felt normal to me. It took me about a week to get used to the Tacoma‘s steering wheel button, now it seems normal.

 

Sure it can.

Disconnect steering shaft.
Turn wheel 90 degrees to the left.
Reconnect steering shaft.

 

The entire entune system is flawed

 

Oh for sure it is, thats why I swapped it out for a android headunit.

 

Yes, yes. And bass ackwards from the way every other car or human brain works.

Volume is UP and Down. Radio stations, since time-Oldsmobile-immemorial, have been left to right.
