I already spent on and installed new springs so I guess I'll wait till I replace them again down the road. How about 1" lift. Doable with new tires and shackles?

33" tires are what, 1" larger than factory?

So you'll gain 1/2" of actual clearance that route, not to mention the benefits I mentioned before.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

If you want to go with 33s, here's my experiece.

When I first went to 33s I was running my stock leaf springs with a 1.5 inch lift add a leaf and I also took the middle leaf spring out of a 5 lug (2wd) Tacoma leaf pack and added it in as well. That gave me about 3 inches of lift, and it actually rode pretty good. The only things you would need (in addition to those two leafs) is new U-blots and center pins... and shocks, because your shocks (current) wont be long enough for that amount of lift.

Any specific brands/model you recommend? Hoping to stay under $25/shock.

    Define Drive faster ??

Your stated Goal is high speed travel 50mph plus on trails that would love to see a double case in the lowest gear?

Is this your end game ?

If that’s the case I would worry more about actually getting stuck (happens to everyone pushing beyond the usual) and focus on recovery. Recovery points winches snatch blocks Basic tools Traction boards recovery anchors or chain saws depending on environment.

Here is, probably the cheapest, good, option for what you're trying to do. You may able to find some of these things cheaper individually somewhere else etc. But this is what I would suggest you do, and @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc is where I would suggest you get the parts from. They may have a sale, or they used to give a TacomaWorld discount. PLUS... get a set of leaf springs off of a 5 lug (2wd) 1st gen Tacoma (salvage yard, FB Market, Offer Up, Craigslist). The leaf packs on those trucks have 3 leafs in them. you want the middle leaf out of the pack.

OP is looking for a cheaper version of LT? Who in the heck drive fast enough on service road to bottom out? If so, this is a recipe for disaster: rollover with bodily injury or death.
Fast and stock down mix well together.

This thought (a few threads back) has definitely occured to me.

Especially since some of the posts correlate with that of another member who pretty much butt heads with everyone cause he was too dumb (and thick headed) to listen to actual advice.

Was giving the OP the benefit of a doubt really.

I heard if you run MacPherson struts in the rear of your truck, you can go as far as you want. The ride quality is similar or better than a 3/4 link and trailing arm.

I think you are judging wrong about that such person but you do have more experience on here. They are probably thick head but probably because they lack your experience and don’t have the budget.

Ooh no, I'm not thinking of THAT person. Thinking of someone else that was either banned, or disappeared.

But again, let's hope it was just a thought and I'm completely wrong.

I like to see others succeed in whatever they're attempting to accomplish the same way others have helped me before.

    This forum is awesome.
