Been down the rabbit hole and I think I'm ready to pull the trigger. I have a 2019 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab TRD Off-road.

    Goals:
    • 2"-3" lift
    • Rebuildable shocks
    • Reliability
    • Low Maintenance
    • Bed weight flexibility
    Wish List:

    upload_2022-1-13_21-19-45.png

    Questions:
    1. Am I missing anything to complete the lift?
    2. Do you recommend changing any of the items and why?

    Thanks for help!

I would change the TC UCA from Heim to the regular one which you can get for about 750dlls (saving around 300dlls), with that I would add the Icon delta joint kit (replacing the uniball) for easier maintenance and keep it squeak free.

Could you share why you selected those particular shocks? I'm also looking to do a suspension lift in the 2"-2.5" range and getting my feet wet with research

Easily rebuildable here locally and the right performance and price range for me. Still debating if I should also get 2.5" shocks for the rear. But I'm waiting for the gurus to chime in about the shocks.

Anything with heim joints/spherical bearings is not low maintenance. Either zirk grease-able joints or rubber bushings would be a better choice. The SPC x-axis joints might also be ok for maintenance, haven't hear too many complaints on those.

If you want bombproof, well designed suspension components, anything Archive Garage makes should top the list. Eric is passionate about not making compromises.

Thank you. I will research the SPC UCAs tomorrow. Everything else look good?

Depends on what you’re going to be using your truck for and your budget. 2.0 shocks might be fine for your application, or not. There’s a lot of info around here and everyone has different experiences so I understand if it gets a bit overwhelming.

This is what I went with a couple of years ago:
    7E1E0454-F2FF-4249-8FB6-2BDAF82D18BD.jpg
It’s not much different in price than yours. You don’t really need compression adjusters, that’ll save you another hundreds. And l wouldn’t get the BajaKits UCA again, instead the Total Chaos with the Icon joint kit.

Also, don’t forget about tires (stock size looked kinda silly on mine after the lift)

Here's a visual representation of just how silly

(My wheels came in yesterday and I hope to have tires on 'em come Monday.)

Plz be sure to re-adjust your headlights after the lift. Just to save the on-coming drivers' retinas.

I'm assuming you mean adjustable shocks. From what I understand the shocks I listed aren't adjustable.
Yeah, I have tires budgeted. But I was going to wait until I have the lift installed to figure out what size will fit best without any rubbing.

Been reading up on these and I might go for them. Haven't found anything negative yet and they are cheaper than what I had budgeted.

Fronts are adjustable for ride height only with no adjustable damping. Rears do not have adjustable damping.
"clickers" refers to a knob or many to adjust compression and rebound damping.

what are you thoughts on the shocks I picked. I don't do anything extreme or high speed. I think the 2.0s in the rear will handle what I plan on doing.
