I've watched several POV youtube reviews of the 2024 model. I can hear the turbo whistle on several of them despite them not being recorded with the best microphones. Only one reviewer talked abut the whistling noise in a negative fashion. The other racing-oriented car enthusiasts seem to love it, but to me it's a truck and not a race car and I'm just looking for quiet ride. Does anyone know if the new tacoma comes with a silencer ring or if there will be any aftermarket solution to help dampen the noise?

    Big rigs whistle too.
I’m sure someone will invent something for those who don’t like it.

I took out the baffle for my Cummins so it is a little louder. I’m sure someone will invent a silencer and someone will figure out how to make the whistle hella loud too

I hear that the prius is nice and quiet….

Trucks are not quiet vehicles. Deal with it.

LOL I remember when all the snowbirds started complaining about the 12v Cummins turbo whistle in late 90's-00's Dodges. They were dumbfounded as to what this annoying whistle was........and it got louder the harder they mashed on the accelerator!

Funny, hearing the turbo noises in the Throttle House video actually improved my opinion of the 4th gen. I would consider buying a 4th gen as a daily when my 4Runner croaks. Hearing the blowoff valve would add entertainment to my daily commute.

I'm surprised the old people could hear anything over 500Hz

I don’t think so. Kind of like the spooling up sound non a turbo engine.
