At least this truck has been Florida truck its whole life. I don't know how just that one truck frame piece caused any issues.

With friends like that, who needs enemies?!

Let it sit and continue pursuing legal action on that douche that perpetrated the fraud. Toyota rust destruction occurs from the inside out. Like mentioned above, no way that's the only place it's advanced to that degree.

Only help I can provide is a review of the Depstech colonoscopy scope. They're great. I bought one a couple years ago and the first one quit working out of the box. I sent it back for a refund through Amazon...which I received immediately. A couple weeks later, the Depstech sale team reached out and offered to send me one free of charge to alter my review, which was not scathing in anyway but reflected my original experience. I accepted and glad I did. The scope is a super handy tool that I've used for so many things. Checking cylinder bores, bad teeth, poked into bird houses to watch fledgling chicks hatch.

Thanks man any response is helpful and I appreciate yours. No he is one of my best friends of forever, I just think I really wanted the truck and he doesn't know what he is talking about.
However, I am just thinking that there is nothing I can do at this point. I mean although the bill of sale marks I hearby certify to the best of my knowledge that this is the actual mileage and also on the title and also on the ad, I still think I am SOL because cars are sold "AS IS" and I can't really prove that he knew and defrauded me or he himself rolled the miles back.

Your right about the rust issue. You bought it knowingly but the DMV where you live can easily trace the past titles on the truck and determine when the mileage occurred. They have investigators that deal with that shit all the time. It's a big deal.

I went through a very similar scenario man. I bought my 2000 taco from a buddy for 2600 because it had tranny problems and after I got it and rolled around a while I saw the rust :(. The frame was rhino lined over the rusty metal and my rear frame was f'ed just like yours. I bought the safe-t cap kit for the rear frame w/ spring mount and had that installed. Worked like a charm. All in all, metal was $465 with material surcharge and $1300 for a competent welder. It feels like shit to find more problems in the truck you wanted so bad, I felt the same way. Fortunately these trucks can run forever if you do it right!

You may want to consider spending a couple of hundred for an hour's consultation with a consumer law attorney to see if you possibly have recourse. Your local bar association would be a good source for a recommendation & some offer a discounted rate.

There is a clean frame in Brandon for $850. I almost bought it like 2 months ago but couldn't get any of my friends to store it or drive it up. Its at a small junk yard. If you need info let me know and I can figure out which one it was.
