So, I dropped $1100 on these KO2's 2 years ago. Over all, no complaints.
I replaced one of the back KO2's recently under warranty and never thought anything of it. Well, when I rotated my back two tires to the front a month ago, it brought the new tire and a not so new tire to the front. So, it started pulling to the right a smidge.
Tire shop said its because now the newer tire with more tread is covering more distance than the one that's older with less tread, therefore it feels like the truck is driving to the right a hair. So... I guess you should never replace just 1 tire, but at least the pair. Never knew that.

Most tire places will make you buy two tires depending on wear if the one opposite the tire your replacing.

By chance do u have an exact spare with same rim? You could always swap the spare tire and keep the more worn out one as a spare therefore having two new tires.

    I wish.
I should buy another rim and tire to put under there.
Will a 265/70/17 fit under there?

I guess buying another wheel and tire is cheaper than buying 4 tires.

Sorry OP, it's common for tires to wear, and putting a new tire with evenly worn and rotated ones will throw the other side off balance. If your tires are still roughly new, you may get away with replacing with a new tire. However once you reach around 8k-10k, you can be safe to assume you will need to replace at least 2.

Think of it.... one tire is actually slightly larger in diameter. One tire is trying to cover more distance than the other with each revolution... to make that happen, the vehicle has to turn.

Did you buy 5 tires? Why not dismount/remount the spare tire into the rotation and put the worn one on the spare?

    Nevermind. Someone already suggested it.

    I didn't buy a spare.
Thinking about just buying 5 (this time) new tires and selling/saving these.

    Just buy 2.

mount one as a spare. grab another steel wheel and mount the other one as a second spare (you never know if you may need it). Spare tires get stolen all of the time.

I'm surprised the shop didn't do this. Is shaving more difficult on larger tires?

It should, I believe that’s the size of a sport oem size. Or off-road can’t remember
