    A thing or two...
Thanks for the info. From the measurements that I took when I tried adjusting it, I have to adjust the pedal stop to raise the pedal. I also have a ton of free play. RIght now the clutch starts to grab way high in the release, like halfway or more up from the floor.

If you shorten the length of the rod, that'll make the clutch grab close to the floor.

My 15 grabs all the way at the top and I don't care for that at all, I tried adjusting the rod but then the pedal had zero resistance when you first stepped on it, I was only able to move it a hair from the line I marked and it barely moved the catch point downward.

Hmm, mine also grabbed right at the top when new and after the TSB for the pedal squeak. I was able to adjust the grab point anywhere in the pedal travel and have it about 1/4 of the travel off of the floor. As noted, it did make the free travel light which I suspect is the pedal spring that we feel (must be a light spring) and then the resistance is the hydraulics one the piston starts to engage.

I took the torsion spring out of the pedal assembly on my 13. That alone will not change the pedal grab height but it sure makes the clutch a hell of a lot more consistent and with more feedback. Pedal still returns just fine and engages the cruise control switch, remember the fingers on the pressure plate is a giant spring.

As others have said above, the pedal grab point is adjustable. But doing that isn't risk free, depending which way you adjust or rather over adjust you can prevent full disengagement or have constant pressure release bearing which you wouldn't know about until the release bearing failed prematurely. Be careful and read well before attempting.

Ps: I used a pool product, Aladdin Magic Lube, to grease the bushings and contact points on the clutch pedal. 100% squeak free for months and months now.

    Back from the dead....

I did this just know and man it's so much better! I'll deal with the little bit of play up top. I've been driving this thing for a month and every damn stop light it looked like it was my first day. Thanks for the info.

I am looking on Amazon for that Aladdin Magic Lube you used. Was it a silicone based lubricant or teflon? I am assuming silicone but would like to be sure. Thanks!

I also adjusted mine as much as I could, and while it is much better, it still engages slightly too far away from the floor for my liking. I am getting used to it, though.

After 8 years and 91,500 miles I started to notice my clutch was engaging further away from floor (or to far out) and a "SLIGHT" slip when engaging. Found this thread and I'm back in business with it properly adjusted. It didn't take a whole lot of adjusting either. Guess I'm blessed. Very simple to do, and hope this will also help someone else out. Thx TW!

I adjusted the clutch grab using the instructions here, it worked very well

I would also like to adjust the clutch pedal height but I can't get a wrench on the locknut.
Does anyone know what size wrench bI need for the locknut? I tried everything from 11-14 mm without success

I took this bad picture with my phone, it's the top blue nut I need to unlock to screw it down. What is metal cylinder on top? It looks different than the Toyota diagram on page 1 of this thread

I adjusted the rod going to the cylinder in the cab under the clutch pedal counter clockwise about 2 turns and clutch lets out before top of pedal. loosen the lock nut and just turn the pushrod then tighten back up. I dont have any free play in the clutch pedal but has been working great

Anyone know what this sensor does? Appears to be part of the clutch pedal height adjustment and has a spring loaded button that goes through a hole (never gets tripped)

I think that is the clutch switch that kicks it out of cruise control when the clutch is pressed. There should be a rubber cushion pad that mounts through the hole and will prevent the pusher on the switch from going through the hole.

Does your cruise control work. I think it doesn't.

That was the only thing that kinda made sense..

I think it does work, but will check it out and update. Maybe it works but the system doesn’t register it

To close this out, yeah that missing plug required to push that button on the clutch IS for cruise control purposes.

mine is missing (per pic in prior posts) and my cruise control no longer works. Fucking gremlins.. original owner, never pulled it out myself and it disappeared - go figure..

a little gorilla tape or an hour of cad/3dprinting should do the trick.
